U.S. Representative Mel Hancock
Mel Hancock, founder of Federal Protection, Inc.® in 1969, will be honored on the floor of the House of Representatives in Jefferson City on May 14th at 9:00am.
This honor is in recognition of his work as a private citizen. He initiated a petition drive to add a “Tax and Spending Amendment” in 1978 to the Missouri Constitution. He spearheaded the successful passage of this amendment in 1980, now referred to as the "Hancock Amendment."
The event will include an unveiling of a bronze bust of Mel, after which the bust will be placed permanently in the Hall of the Missouri State Capitol.
